Description

:iconwindsonde: Official map of Chalypsos, home of the hippogryphs.

Chalypsos - Clan Territories    Chalypsos - Henges

Kapprini Territory

Ankanthos: Northern alpine region. A more hostile region than the rest of Chalypsos, made up primarily of steep rocky mountains crowned with snow. The Western coast of Akanthos features spectacular fjords and the glaciers that carved them.

Mount Daedalus: Marks the gateway to Nomisma.

Nomisma: The northernmost reaches of Chalypsos. An inhospitable land of sheer mountains covered in ice and snow. Only the adventurous and the outcast ever venture here.

Mount Dexios: A central peak between Akanthos and Nomisma.

Othone: A region where the mountains give way to steppes. A land of tundra.

Biblion: A chain of rocky mountains. These peaks are less snowy but no less dramatic.

Koppa: An area with steep hills and montane grasslands. This region is crucial as a convergence point between three of Chalypsos’ four clans.

Zophos: The westernmost mountain range. Quite pleasant at the lower altitudes.

Hyppos  Territory

Molochost: A vast steppe featuring a large water-filled basin; Molochost Basin.

Medos Valley: The easiest way from northern Chalypsos to its southern plains, and the home territory of Hyppos’ leaders. The terrain varies from temperate steppe to windswept moorland.

Heliothine: Chalypsos’ lower plains, dominated by the Hyppos. The terrain is primarily grasslands, and ranges from heath to sagebrush.

Melki: A relatively secluded area made up of chalk downs and chalk cliffs.

Lyo: A quiet, mystical spot.

Apseptimus Henge: The most important henge on Chalypsos. Apseptimus is the largest and most impressive henge on the island.

Prosphora: The Eastern lower plain of Chalypsos. Notable for its many henges.

Narkissos River: A large river. Its northern bank borders a beautiful chalk grassland.

Lysis River: A wide, meandering river with many oxbows.

Duplum: A secluded area peppered with large henges. This makes Duplum the second most important henge site after Apseptimus.

Cervanthe Territory

Pantothen: One of Chalypsos’ largest forests. Ranges from subalpine at the Zophos foothills to wet woodland further south.

Thambos: A peninsula covered in muskeg, bogs, fens, mires, and wooded swamplands. Less forested than Pantothen. Most attribute supernatural qualities to this area, and many are too unnerved to venture here.

Blabaros: Deciduous forest. Out of all of Chalypsos’ forests, Blabaros is known to look the most spectacular in the autumn.

Hoti Lake: An incredibly popular site among the Kapprini, Hyppos, and Cervanthe. Many travel here to meet with friends, relax, and play.

Acrolus: A massive boreal forest.

Pleko: A series of curious white boulders perched on a cliff. A calming site to rest and be alone with one’s thoughts.

Ophrys Fells: Boreal forest that gives way to fells and krummholz.

Zygos: A large sound surrounded by taiga and limestone plains.

Dis: A large area of exposed continental crust. Features large tunnel valley lakes.

Anthelos Territory

Myrmakant: An area dominated by veldt, scrub, and desert.
Moschos: A ring of tall, steep hills. The Seer is said to spend a lot of time here.
Nyn River:
A small but vital river.
Diago:
A harsh and uninviting desert plain.

Lysis Delta: The most important water source in Myrmakant.
