The Black Gryphon

Another project for class, this time to "fix" a "bad" illustration. The art of the illustration in question doesn’t necessarily have to be bad, it might just be doing a poor job of telling a story.

I chose the cover of Mercedes Lackey’s “The Black Gryphon”. It gives me an excuse to paint a griffin (like I really need one). In my opinion, the original cover doesn’t relate one bit to the story inside, nor does it engage with you at all (the anatomy is iffy, too)

This was super fun. Need to paint more griffins~
